Mark Graban is an internationally-recognized consultant, published author, professional speaker, blogger, podcaster, and entrepreneur. His Operational Excellence approach is influenced by experiences with Lean Management (a.k.a. the Toyota Production System), statistical methods, and change management concepts including psychological safety.

He builds upon a deep education in engineering and management with practical experience helping people collaborate and improve: executives, frontline employees, and all points in between. Mark has worked for corporations including General Motors, Dell, and Honeywell, also holding key roles with two software startups. Since 2010, Mark has been a consultant for healthcare organizations and in other industries.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. He later earned dual degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Fellow in the Leaders for Global Operations program: a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and and MBA from the MIT Sloan of Management. 

He was certified as a “Lean Expert” (the equivalent of a “Black Belt”) during his time at Honeywell. Mark is also trained and certified in the “4 Stages of Psychological Safety” methodology through LeaderFactor.
